Tenants in Foreclosure Intervention Project
Tenants in Foreclosure Intervention Project (TFIP) focuses exclusively on the issues facing tenants living in buildings in foreclosure. TFIP provides:
- legal representation for tenants in foreclosure;
- counseling for tenants in foreclosure about their options and information about relocation options, as needed (see our new informational brochure for tenants);
- training and ongoing support to community organizations to help them address issues related to tenants facing foreclosure; and
- an early warning system designed to identify, map, and share key pieces of information about recently filed foreclosures on multi-unit buildings with our community partners who can then use the information to perform direct outreach with impacted tenants.
Watch a wonderful video created by Northwestern University students at Medill about foreclosures, featuring TFIP.
