DEIB Update: Jan. 2025

In 2024, LCBH entered Phase Two of our collaboration with The Red Bee Group (TRBG) to advance our DEIB efforts, ensuring they are aligned with our mission to protect renters’ rights and advocate for safe, stable housing for all.  

Beginning in 2023, TRBG assessed the culture, policies, and programming in place to support DEIB at LCBH through an all-staff survey and assessment. The findings made it clear: LCBH’s Mission, Values, and Strategic Plan, coupled with our growing team, provided a unique opportunity to involve all team members in the “relaunch” of our DEIB culture.  

In Phase Two, the DEIB Committee and TRBG defined objectives, timeframes, and success measures to create a DEIB Roadmap, which guides our efforts in four critical areas: 

  • Recruiting Diverse Talent 
  • Implementing DEIB-Centric Policies and Training 
  • Adopting Intentional Communication Strategies 
  • Reinforcing Board Leadership 

We’re proud to report our committee made significant progress toward these objectives in 2024, including multiple staff-led DEIB trainings and celebrations, the introduction of a Board DEIB liaison, the addition of an HR Consultant to assist in reviewing and advancing DEIB polices, and strengthened connections with diverse affinity groups to bolster diverse talent recruitment.
