Sharon L. King Distinguished Alumni Award Nominations

BACKGROUND

The Sharon L. King Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes outstanding professional achievement among Lawyers’ Committee for Better Housing’s (LCBH) former legal fellows and/or interns. The award is given to individuals who, in the opinion of the selection committee, have demonstrated admirable professionalism and dedication to protecting renters’ rights and advancing housing justice.

AWARD CRITERIA

LCBH defines alumni as all individuals who have completed an internship or fellowship at Lawyers’ Committee for Better Housing. In all cases where the alumni status of an individual is questioned, the executive director will make the final ruling.

To submit a nomination, please fill out the nomination form by Friday, October 18, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.

LCBH will present the award to an individual who is 45 years of age or younger at the date of the selection committee meeting. His or her achievements may include:

  • Extraordinary success in a housing law or housing justice related career since leaving LCBH
  • Outstanding housing law or housing justice related community service that exemplifies the objectives of LCBH
  • Recognition by colleagues and peers for outstanding leadership in protecting renters’ rights and/or preserving safe, decent and affordable housing
