LCBH is proud to welcome Felicia Shakespeare to our Board of Directors. Felicia is a bestselling author and founder of A Purpose Driven Woman LLC and podcast. In addition to curating the podcast, Felicia has planned and hosted her conference in Chicago, Atlanta, and London. She was nominated for and became the winner of the Global Woman 2020 Inspirational Award in London.
How did you connect with LCBH? I connected with LCBH through a virtual board member recruitment event.
Why is serving on a board that addresses housing issues important to you? It’s important for me to serve on a board that addresses housing issues because having security and control over where you live in my purview is a fundamental right. Because so many are not experts in law, having an organization like LCBH in your corner is critical.
What are you most excited about in your role as a new board member? I’m excited to bring my insight, experience, and perspective to the issues the organization has made a priority for change, such as housing stabilization and equity. I’m also excited to add value and address what’s coming in the future.
What skills from your career do you hope to bring to your board service? Brand development, project management, and community and customer service support are a myriad of skills I can bring to this role.
What do you like to do in your free time? In my free time, I enjoy traveling and attending events; both personal and professional.
