What does housing justice mean to you?
Housing justice means that all people in a community have access to safe and affordable housing, along with accessible and equal protections against discrimination. It’s a promise and a commitment a community makes to itself.
What are you looking forward to as an Ambassador?
Helping with community events and spreading the word about what LCBH does, how they do it, and where people in the city can seek out their help.

What does housing justice mean to you?
Housing justice is about treating housing as a human right, not a privilege or a commodity. It’s about creating communities where everyone can live without fear of displacement and with the security and dignity they deserve.
What are you looking forward to as an Ambassador?
As an Ambassador, I am looking forward to connecting with community members and having the privilege to provide brief services that can have a profound impact on renters’ lives.
What is a fun fact about you?
A fun fact about me is I lived in China for a year!

What does housing justice mean to you?
Housing justice means creating safer spaces in neighborhoods starting at the foundation, creating more business opportunities that bring value to the residents that are safe spaces and owned by people of the community, not just corporations.
What are you looking forward to as an LCBH Ambassador?
I am dedicated to advocating for families and individuals experiencing housing challenges, and I am greatly excited to have the opportunity to be on the LCBH Ambassadors Outreach Subcommittee and connect individuals and families who need housing resources. Knowledge can change their lives and give them breathing room for the opportunity to properly manage housing difficulties and thrive.
What are you currently reading or watching?
The Color of Law by Richard Rothstein. Powerful and incredibly important read in understanding the history and living impact of housing in America.

What does housing justice mean to you?
Housing is fundamental to building happy, productive lives for us and our families. Housing justice means everyone has a safe place to prepare a meal, help the kids with their homework, or get a good night’s sleep.
What are you looking forward to as an LCBH Ambassador?
I’m excited to help LCBH increase their capacity in and outside of eviction court. Sometimes the scope of the matter is relatively modest but helping clients achieve seemingly small victories can be incredibly meaningful in their lives. It has been wonderful to step outside of my normal practice and delve into a new area of law.
What is a fun fact about you?
I love movies (and listening to podcasts about movies), and my partner and I go to the theater as often as possible. It has been a great movie year – ‘Sinners,’ ‘Weapons,’ and ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ are a few of my favorites so far this year. I’m not typically a big birthday person, but for my birthday a couple weeks ago, I rented out a movie theater auditorium, filled it with popcorn and snacks, and watched a new release with a bunch of friends. I’m successfully forcing my hobby onto everyone else.

What does housing justice mean to you?
I believe that housing is a fundamental human right, and that safe and reliable housing is essential for an individual to thrive. To me, housing justice means both recognizing the systemic socioeconomic barriers that prevent people from being able to access consistent housing and addressing those barriers in a way that empowers individuals to have stable lives.
What are you looking forward to as an Ambassador?
As an Ambassador, I look forward to supporting the organization’s pro bono efforts and working directly with the communities that LCBH serves. I hope to better understand the challenges in this space and to provide support in a way that is informed, respectful, and responsive to our community’s needs.
What are you currently reading or watching?
I’m currently switching off between the newest seasons of “Nobody Wants This” and “The Great British Baking Show” on Netflix.

Housing justice means fair and equitable housing access for all individuals regardless of their background, race, gender, or situation.
What are you looking forward to as an Ambassador?
I am looking forward to spreading the word about what LCBH has to offer and how I can connect people with the great resources and legal counsel that exists. I am looking to volunteer my time and talents for an organization that is doing great work for our community and help make a difference in housing justice.
What is a fun fact about you?
I love listening to Chicago House Music, especially from the Chicago Chosen Few DJs. It definitely puts me in good spirits and gets me through my day!
